Acts 28:23-31 They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the kingdom of God... They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your forefathers when he said through Isaiah the prophet: "'Go to this people and say, "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving." For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.' "Therefore I want you to know that God's salvation has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will listen!" For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ. Some have said that Book of Acts is a work in progress, because you and I are still writing this book. Lord told us personally, in Acts 1:8, that we will be His witness till the ends of the earth. Back in the days of Jesus, He set foot in all Judea and Samaria; in the Book of Acts, the disciples set foot in Europe. The gospel continued to be spread out till the ends of the earth. Throughout the generations, the Holy Spirit continues to work; not only in Europe, but also in Americas. The revival in South America's Argentina brought multitude to the Lord. Lord's Spirit also moved in Europe and China, where hundreds of thousands turn back to the Lord in many places. According to some statistics, on average about twenty thousand people are accepting the Lord in Mainland China each day. God's revival fire also came upon Singapore, Taiwan and other Asian countries. Around the world, however, there are still many countries that are unreached. There are still many strongholds in Muslim and Buddhist countries. Therefore, we must ask God to vision for the Kingdom and we ought to pray for His work around the world. In the past few years, many organizations continuously prayed for the countries in the 10-40 window. There are 62 countries in that region, and the population is mostly Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu. People are mostly poor and it's difficult to spread the gospel in those countries. We all need to pray for these countries and the people, because they are the unreached that God has assigned to us. The church needs to rise up and work with God, so that His will may be done in this generation.
Pray with Pastor Tong Liu
Lord, we thank you, and we ask that you give us the same power as the early church so that we may preach the gospel with the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. Let us rise up for the Kingdom of God in our daily lives so that your name will receive the greatest glory. Bless us and make us missionaries of the gospel. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen! |
