1 Timothy 3:1

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.

Paul said to "desire a noble task" is a good thing, do you have the desire to serve god? Previously I read an article with "Faith has no vacation" as its title, that there is no day off when it comes to a Christian. Today many Christians, however, take their days off not just once a week; rather it is six days off, coming to worship on Sunday only. Faith has no vacation, faith is life, once we become a Christian, having the life of Christ, and we must follow Him daily. Indeed it's not only faith has no vacation, there is no day off serving God, our lives should be a ministry.

Besides ministering in life, there is also ministering in the church. It's a joy serving God; it's also something we should aspire because: First, we can see God's work when we serve. Serving is working together with God, seeing God's wonderful work in our lives; we'll then give thanks and praise God. Next, serving God can share the joy of growing together; growth is a joy by itself. I still remember my elder daughter in her young age would always say, "I can, sister can't" whenever she got things done, meaning: "I'm a grown-up!" Similarly, our spiritual lives can grow when serving God.

Once during our fellowship, a brother said he was a Sunday Christian in the past, but now he is so busy serving, leading cell groups and the children. But praise God, he feels his life is growing, and full of joy in growth. Brothers and sisters, serving God is a joy, it's also a noble desire. Have you ever experienced the joy of serving? Are you ready to join serving God?

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, we ask you to draw us, let us run after you. When we serve, let us experience the sweet joy of serving; and march boldly towards the way of ministry, while getting the prize that you make ready for us. We give thanks and pray in the victorious name of Jesus, Amen!
