Psalm 13:1-6
"How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.I will sing the Lord's praise, for he has been good to me."
David the poet cried out to God in this poem. When is the rescue going to come? Many times this is also the cry of our heart. Many times we long for God's rescue and His promises to come pass, but we often fell into disappointment when His promises do not seemed to be fulfilled. When the writer of Hebrews wrote to the Book of Hebrews, the believers did not fall away in the midst of all kinds of persecution, but they grew weary because God's promises do not seem to be fulfilled. Therefore the writer of the Book of Hebrews encouraged the believers in Hebrew 10:35 that "so do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay." Here he encouraged brothers and sisters three things:
First, do not throw away your confidence. From here we know that confidence is something that we can choose to keep or to throw away. When difficult situations come, we need to hold on to God and believe by faith that He is still doing great and mighty things in our lives.
Second, we need to "have done the will of God." Many times things are not happening not because God is not willing to let them happen but because God needs to finish His will first. Therefore we must be patient and wait upon the will of God and see what He is currently doing.
Third, "For in just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay." Here it says in just a little while, which means it is not long. By faith we can continue to look upon God and hold on to His promise, for His promise will come to pass in just a little while.
May the Lord help us, that we will come before God if we are weary to again hold on to our confidence, patiently so that we finish the will of God, and believe that His promise will come to pass.

Dear Lord, I give You thanks and praises, for Your promises are previous and faithful. And in Your time and Your way You will fulfill Your promises. May You grant us a courageous heart to hold on to Your words and carry it on. I thank you and I pray all these in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
