Ephesians 6:14-15 "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." Paul told us to put on the spiritual armor. First we need to keep the belt of truth buckled around our waist. The truth is the word of God. No matter what we do, we need to use the word of God as our guideline. Many Christians are still using the attitude of "I think, I feel, I suppose" to face their life. The most important thing is actually how the word of God tells us, and what His will and His principle are in this matter? As clearly as the word of God are written, we still don't agree, and we do everything in our way only to get ourselves in trouble. The reason for the failure of many Christians is that even after they become Christians, they still behave the way they used to do. They fail to stand firm on God's truth. They don't understand God's principles, either. Secondly, we need to keep the breastplate of righteousness in place. The righteousness is to follow God's order. This is the way to manifest God's righteousness. We must not only understand God's truth, but also follow the truth. What is needed the most in God's kingdom today is not someone with a master's degree, or a doctor's degree, but someone as a martyr and a warrior of the kingdom, or in other words, a group of fools. These fools are not simply fools, but people who are willing to pay any price to follow the word of God. These people are martyrs and warriors in God's kingdom. They are not only preachers, but also people who are determined to follow the word of God in any field. When we are willing to follow the word of God, His righteousness will be manifested on us. Thirdly, we need to keep our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. What keeps our feet fitted stands for the places we go to. We need to move and change jobs very often, especially in such a highly mobile society nowadays. You should take the gospel to wherever you go. Don't think it is very hard to evangelize, or it is something only a pastor can do. In fact, the gospel is the good news. Just think about it. Do you often tell other people good news, such as ongoing sales or good restaurant? If this is counted as good news, wouldn't salvation of Jesus be better news? So we need to do our best to evangelize. The spiritual principle is that the more you share, the more you will have; the more peace you share, the more peace you will have; the more joy you share, and the more joyful you will be. May God help us become someone who evangelizes every day. Lord, may you help us to put on the full armor, keep the belt of your Words buckled around our waist, and follow your word in our daily life. May your righteousness be manifested, your word be spread, so that people around us may receive your gospel of peace. We thank you and we pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen! |
