Romans 1:18-20
"The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."
People are without excuse to deny the fact that God exists. It is not difficult at all to see that God's fingerprint is everywhere, from the whole universe, the nature and His creations. Let's look at how nature operates first. When we look at the whole Milky Way, we have to be in awe of the greatness of the Creator. Dr. Newton was a pious Christian. One of the colleagues in his lab kept denying God's existence. One day Dr. Newton made a model of the Milky Way and put it in the lab. That colleague noticed the exquisite model when he came in. So he asked around who made that model. Dr. Newton responded by saying that the model came from half a million years of random collisions among particles. That friend still kept asking who actually made it. Dr. Newton then said: "You would believe that someone made this model. Why wouldn't you believe there is a creator for this universe?" That friend didn't know how to respond after hearing that. Therefore, just by looking at how nature operates, you can tell there must be a creator.
Secondly, we can look at the moral laws in people's heart. Throughout the history, all man-made laws in the world have very similar provisions, as if there is always a concept of perfection in our heart. Just like Saint Augustine once said: "When God made the mankind, He left a God-shaped void in them that only God can fill." Nothing we go after in this world can satisfy our heart. Only the perfect Creator can fill the void set for perfection in our heart. Only when the perfect God comes into our heart, will the moral laws inside our heart be satisfied.
God's existence is the truth in front of us. Are we willing to accept Him to be our God? In verse 17 it says: "The righteous will live by faith". We can receive the life from God as long as we come to God the Creator by faith and receive His grace. Moreover, we must not only accept Him to be our God, but also accept His plan for our life. In Romans 8:29-30 it says: "For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified". Do you know God has such a glorious destiny for you? Let's all trust in Him!
