The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night, but no one knows when. There are many prophecies today on when the Lord will return, but if we study the Bible carefully, the Lord Himself clearly said no one knows the hour or the day. Paul also mentioned here "about times and dates, we do not need to write to you, for you know very well..." However, over the past generations and decades, many who do not understand God's Word will try all means to prophesy about when the Lord is coming back again. Matthew 24:36 says, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."
God revealed to us about his second coming, not for us to try to explain it by our own interpretation, but to warn us to be alert. No matter how things are fulfilled, the important thing is that the Lord is coming soon and we need to be alert and self-controlled. When we see the things that are happening in this generation, we see many signs that are mentioned in the Bible. The church needs to rise up and work together with God to preach the Gospel, so that many people can come to know the Lord in these last days. This is what is on God's heart. Let us stop guessing when the Lord is coming, and stop analyzing what signs will come, because the Lord's coming is near, and it may be during our generation! Let us be alert and exercise self-controlled as we wait upon His coming!
