In this scripture passage, we can see the difference between the testimonies of people and God. When the priests and scribes brought Jesus to the Sanhedrin for trial, they were determined to condemn Him of any sin, so they made tremendous effort to find evidences to accuse Jesus with. Evidences should come up naturally and they don't need to be dressed up; these people, however, tried to find evidences to accuse Jesus. They could not find any real evidence, so they tried to find false evidence against Jesus but still couldn't find any.
.
From this incident, we can see the true nature of the holiness of Jesus. People wanted to falsely accuse Him, but couldn't find any evidence, so they had to make up false testimonies without any fact. Those who reject the truth are truly pathetic; they know what is true, but do not want to acknowledge it, so they must make up a bigger lie to cover their foolishness and ignorance. The High Priest asked Jesus whether He's the Son of the Almighty, and Jesus answer very clearly. He wasn't vague or ambiguous at all, instead He said "You have said so" and "you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The testimony of Jesus was sound and clear, and every word carries power, because this is a testimony of truth. Holy Spirit will also bear testimony for Jesus with His Power, which demonstrates that Jesus is indeed the Son of God. Anyone who accepts this testimony will receive eternal life; anyone who rejects this testimony will perish.
.
Brothers and sisters, are you willing to accept this testimony? Are you will be spread this testimony? May the Lord help us, even though we might be in all kinds of hardship or facing rejection and opposition from the world, let us follow the example of Christ to spread the true testimony and God's word, so that we can win back the hearts of people for Jesus Christ!
