| Romans 6:12-14 "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace." If we offer our life as sacrifice to God, we must begin with offering our body to Him. That's why Paul encouraged us in Romans 12:1: "...offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." Why is it so important to offer our bodies? It is because our bodies are our tools for living. Every little thing that we do in life involves our bodies, so we need to be watchful whether our bodies are submitting to Lord's authority. Imagine if every Sunday morning you want to get up to attend Sunday school, but your feet don't want to get off the bed. No matter how willing you are, you won't make it to Sunday school. So how do we not allow sin to rule over our bodies that are bound for death? We must not follow our desires, not let our physical desires rule our daily life. For example, we eat only because we are hungry and sleep on when we are tired; if we only follow our physical desires, we will only be satisfying our desires for the moment but end up with eternal emptiness. Therefore, Paul encouraged us to offer our bodies to God so that we may manifest the righteousness of God. In fact, sin cannot rule our bodies because we have already been redeemed by the Lord at a high price. We are living in His grace today, so the Lord will guide us to claim victory against all physical desires. What is your situation today? Who is ruling your life and your body? Is it the Lord, or is it your physical desires? May the Lord's Spirit come and release you today!
