Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Such a precious declaration! Nothing in this world will be able to separate us from the love of God. Once I took my daughter to a Christian bookstore. She chose a poster that carried these two verses. I asked her why she picked this poster. She said: "Because I am afraid to die. Every time I think of death, I have indescribable fear in my heart. These verses bring me great comfort." Everyone has something to be afraid of in his life. Someone might be afraid to die. Someone might be afraid to suffer, while others are afraid of persecution. No matter what you are afraid of, nothing can separate us from the love of God. In other words, no matter what happens, we are still in God's love and in His arms of love, for 1 John 4:18 says: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear." If you truly know the love of God, you will understand that when you depart from this world, God will welcome you into His arms. There will be no fear in your heart. Instead, you will be with the Lord with a joyful heart. We don't have to be afraid of not only the death, but also angels or demons, which stand for the attack from the enemies in our life. From man's point of view, we can't face or triumph over angels or demons. But by the love of God, we can now. This love is in Jesus Christ. In other words, we can only achieve that completely through the Lord. Only in the love of Jesus Christ can we be set free in our life and restore our strength in Christ. Do you love the Lord? Ask the Spirit to keep pouring down His love into our life, so we can conquer in our daily life by Him.
Pray with Pastor Tong Liu Lord, we thank you. It would be hard for us to know ourselves if the Spirit didn't shine on us. May the Spirit help to set us free from all kinds of fears. May your love pour down from your throne, so that we can grasp how wide and long and high and deep is this love, and triumph over the fears by your love in our daily life. We thank you and we pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen! |
