Romans 9:25-29

"As he says in Hosea: 'I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one,' and, It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, "You are not my people," they will be called 'sons of the living God.'  Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: 'Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved.  For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.'"

Ever since the Old Testament time, God has put you in His heart, as He already predestined the gentiles to be saved.  Book of Josiah says that "I will call them 'my people' who are not my people; and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one."   In other word, we the gentiles were not chosen just because the Israelites were disobedient, but we were clearly chosen and predestined for salvation by God.

Ephesians 1:4 says that "for He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy."  We didn't think we were loved, but now we know we are loved by God.  Have you ever been loved and do you know that God still loves you?  So many times you encounter challenges and difficulties in life and feel that no one cares and helps you, but God wants to tell you that you are His beloved.  Because we believe and accept the Lord, we have become the children of eternal God and our loving Father God is taking care of us.  Just like what a hymn says, "Father God will care for you, at any time and in every way."  His will for us is always good, for He never changes and there's no revolving shadows in him.  We may also enjoy the abundance of salvation in Christ and in the precious blood of the Lord we have tremendous power.  Not only can such power release us from the bondage of sin, it can also protect us from any attack by Satan.  The Bible tells us that because of the salvation of Jesus, God has turned Christ into our wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption.  Jesus Christ is the Lord who can meet all our needs.  Not only that, we also have the presence of Holy Spirit inside us so that we may have the joy of deliverance and power to serve.  We don't deserve all these blessings, but God is gracious to us.  It is God who chose us, not we chose God.

Do you know that you are loved by God?  May the Spirit of God open your eyes today so that you may understand the love of God and joyfully run into His arms.

Pray with Pastor Tong Liu

Lord, I thank you for your love, because you have not only chosen unworthy people like us, you also love us so much.  May your Spirit open our eyes to understand you immense love in your selection, and let us run into your arms to enjoy the blessings we are predestined for.  I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
