Psalm 33:1-11

...Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

The plans of men and the plans of God are completely different. The plans of men are often not effective, and they result in nothing; the plans of men are often temporary, because we are short-sighted and we can only see the circumstance around us and problems in our life, and we can't see the long-term plans that God has placed in our life. The plans of men are often selfish, and the love of men is usually self-benefiting love. We say "I love watermelon!" Then we get hold of a watermelon, cut is into halves, dice them up and eat the pulp, spit out the seed and throw away the skin. Do we really love watermelon? Not at all, we love our own stomach, and we want to eat watermelon to satisfy it. The plans of men are often self-benefiting, so it brings us nothing but anxiety, and also brings anxiety to people around us. On the other hand, the plans of men will disappoint us, as we stress ourselves in making plans but still cannot satisfy the desires of our hearts.

The plans of God, however, are totally different. Verse 11 says "...the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations." This is such a precious word! Brothers and sisters, did you know that God's will is higher than our will and His way is higher than our way? We often make tremendous effort to come up with our plans in order to solve our problems, but then we realize how limited are our wisdom and strength. Brothers and sisters, are you stuck in such dilemma? It's like we'd be exhausting all our ways, but cannot bring forth any breakthrough. You must come before God and once again depend on Him, because God's plans are higher than our plans. Let us humble ourselves before God and once again understand that He's sitting on the throne of our life; He's a living and honest God, and He's happy to bless us with His grace in our lives. We must sing praises to Him so that He will receive all the glory. Let us humbly seek His face and let His Spirit reveal His will to us, so that we may walk in His will in our daily life. Once we walk in God will, His promises will come true!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, we thank you, because when turn back to you to seek you plans and your mind, you will may way for us in the midst of any hardship in our life. Please come and guide us in all the ways in our life. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
