Psalm 37:9-17

For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity... The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.

God is willing to grant us all kinds of grace, but there are conditions in order for us to inherit the land, whether it's spiritual land or any other spiritual abundance. Verse 11 clearly says that "the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity." First of all, our hearts must be humble, because when we are humble we can follow God's guidance instead of insisting on our own opinion. If we cannot be humble, it'd be difficult for us to obey, because we always think our opinion is better than others and even better than the opinion of God. Therefore, we are always filled with complaints and bitterness because deep down inside it's really hard for us to be humble. The reason why there's a huge gap between God and us is that we have unbelief in our heart and spirit of disobedience; therefore, we cannot inherit all the grace from God. We need to turn back to God and ask God for spiritual of humility. Let us acknowledge our need before God and confess that we need God Himself, for only God may truly satisfy all the needs deep down inside our hearts. Brothers and sisters, when we come before God to seek Him, we must first look upon Him with a humble heart.

Not only should we have a humble heart, we also need to wait upon God. Verse 9 says that "those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land." Book of Isaiah says that "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." Why can those who wait upon the Lord have renewed strength? Because while waiting upon the Lord, they will learn how to listen to God's voice. When you are waiting, you will be able to quiet your heart to seek Him, asking "God, what is your will in this? How about that person, what is your will for him?" When you open your ear to God and listen to His guidance in life, you will hear His voice and obey His will. When you obey God's will, God's zeal will accomplish this! Hallelujah! May the Lord help us, let us humble ourselves and wait upon Him in our daily life, and we will be able to enjoy all the abundance that God has prepared for us!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, we thank you because you are willing to give us your grace, so let us seek you face and listen to your voice, and wait upon you with a humble heart. Let us also follow your word so that we may experience your abundance and presence. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
