Acts 5:33-39
When they heard this, they were furious and wanted to put them to death. But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be put outside for a little while. Then he addressed them: "Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."
Gamaliel was the leader of the community back then, and was also the Apostle Paul's teacher. He was a God-fearing man, and God used him at that moment to save the apostles. Gamaliel reminded people of the events in the past, and how many people who falsely claimed to be from God naturally disappeared because they did not come from God. Gamaliel reminded the people that if the apostle were not from God, they will naturally be destroyed, but if the apostles were from God, they would be fighting against God. Because Gamaliel stood up and made these remarks, the apostles were spared from more persecution. When the apostles were faced with the threats of death and did not have any resources to help them, they were not sure themselves whether they were going to survive. Praise God, He raised up Gamaliel just in time to say those words!

God is a God of time, and He is never too early, nor too late. He is always right on time in His salvation. During the Old Testament time, when the Israelites were coming out of Egypt, and crossing the Red Sea, the Egyptian army was hot on their heels. From a human perspective, they were dead! There was no way out. Just in the nick of time, God told Moses to point his rod to the ocean and the sea separated for the children of Israel to walk across on dry land. But the Egyptian army continued to follow the Israelites as they walk across the Red Sea. God made a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to keep the Israelites safe from the Egyptian army. Just when the last Israelite stepped out of the Red Sea, the waters came together and washed away the Egyptians. Our God is always in time indeed!
