Today's Passage - Matthew 6:30-32

Matthew 6:30-32
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
It is inevitable for us to worry throughout our lifetime. When we are faced with uncertain future, we're filled with worries. It's actually alright to worry, but our attitude when faced with worried will dictate the outcome. Isn't the motivation for us to accumulate treasure and move to good school district for our kids because we want to be prepared for the future? Christians often feel difficult to tithe, and isn't it because we don't think we'll have sufficient money for the future? Real question is not whether we ought to worry about tomorrow, but rather who is the real ruler of our life.
If you feel that you are the ruler of your own life, then you ought to worry, because our ability and wisdom are truly limited. Can you and I really rule our uncertain days ahead? All we can do is to do our best every day. We need to put everything in God's hands because He's the only master of the all things in the universe, as well as ruler of our life. When we give up everything to Him, we will be able to enjoy rest of our soul. Many people, especially those who are rich, cannot sleep well because they are filled with worries. That's why Jesus said that we cannot serve two master - We either serve God or serve money. He also promised us that "seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all things these things will be added onto you."
When we live a God-centered life, we are able to be released from all our worries. Such deliverance also helps us to understand how to share with others. We'd no longer say "this is my house," but it's "God's house." When people are in need, not only will we pray for them, we also believe that Heavenly Father not only takes care of our needs but also help others through us. As we help others, we will receive tremendous peace and joy. Are you bound by worries deep inside your soul? Are you worries causing you not able to share with others? May the Lord remove the spirit of worries from you so that you will be released, and you will be able experience joy in the Lord!
Pray with Pastor Tong
Lord, may your Spirit come to release us, especially release the brothers and sisters from worries about their circumstance, family or future. We bring all our worries before you because you are the ruler of our life, our loving heavenly father and our provider. We ask that you place assurance in our heart and let us be released from all kind of worries and bondage, and let us enjoy peace in you. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
