Psalm 25:1-10

...No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Brothers and sisters, do you put your hope in God? Do you have the assurance that "No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame"? Isaiah 64:4 clearly mentioned that our God will "act on behalf of those who wait for Him." When you are waiting for God, don't be frustrated or afraid, and don't ever give up! Keep on coming before Him and wait upon Him. Why won't those who have hope in God not be put to shame? Because verse 4 says that the Lord will show us His way and teach us His path. Our way is in the hands of God; in fact, the way that God has prepared for us is much higher than our way. Therefore, when we wait upon God, He will show us the broad and smooth way that He has prepared for us. When we wait upon God, we will see how He makes the way for us!

Next, verse 5 says that God will guide those who have hope in Him with His truth, and that is such a precious thing! When we are not walking in the truth, we are walking in the darkness. Therefore, our hearts are filled with fear and we can't see what's ahead of us. When God guides us with truth, however, it's like having a searchlight in a dark place; once the beam of light from the searchlight shines, we will see the path ahead of us.

Third, verse 7 says that God will not remember the sins of those who have hope in God. Even though we are weak and we have stumbled before, even though we have complained and we were in bitterness, when we sincerely put our hope in God, He will not remember our sins. Did you know how precious it is for God to not remember our sins? When you come before God to confess your sins and turn back to Him, God will wipe off all your sins so that you may come before God without any fear and enjoy all His grace.

Finally, verse 10 says that "All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant." Hallelujah! Let us turn back to God because in God there is abundant grace. Let us not depend on our own flesh, but to look upon God and depend on the guidance on the Holy Spirit, and God will make way for us!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, we once again give you thanks and praise, because those who wait upon you will not be put to shame. We want to bring all our needs before you, and we ask that you make way for us whatever our circumstance is. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
