Psalm 25:11-22

For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare...

Brothers and sisters, are you standing at the crossroad of life? Sometimes you really don't know which way to choose, but the answer is right here: God will instruct those who fear Him in the ways they should choose. Fear of the Lord is beginning of knowledge and wisdom; when we come before God with a fearful heart, He will give us real wisdom. Who are people with real wisdom? Verse 11 says that it's someone whose sins are forgiven. If our hearts are filled with sin and we are living in sin, it's hard for us to please God, and it's hard for God to speak to us and reveal His will. If we are living in sin, we must turn back to God and ask for His forgiveness, and let His precious blood wash us clean. Brothers and sisters, we need the Holy Spirit to shine upon us to see whether there's anything inside us that offend Him and do not please him. We also need to ask God to cleanse us again and give us clean hands and pure hearts. Only a person whose sins are forgiven can come before God and seek His will.

Second, verse 14 says that those who are wise are close to God. Anyone who fears God must want to be close to God. The Bible says that when are close to God, God will be close to us. God values the building of our relationship with Him, for He wants to have a beautiful friendship with us. We should be telling Him our thoughts and difficulties, and He can tell us what's on His mind so that we may understand His will. Therefore, it's important for us to spend time with God daily. Through prayer and reading the scripture, we can connect our hearts with God and we will gradually understand the will of God.

Third, verse 15 says that we must set our eyes on God. When you are in hardship, don't forget to seek Him and not just depend on yourself. Even though we are walking on the path of God, we often still depend on our flesh, wisdom and talent. When we encounter any difficulty, we must first look upon God and seek solution from Him! Let us not depend on our own strength and thus walk many unnecessary miles, but rather to look upon Him and seek Him. Fear God, and you shall know which way to choose!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, we ask that you help us to become those who fear you. In our daily life, let us seek your forgiveness, let us come near you and look upon you, and may your reveal our ways in life every day! I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
