Psalm 21:1-6

The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give! You have granted him his heart's desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head. He asked you for life, and you gave it to him - length of days, for ever and ever. Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty. Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

Chinese people like blessings, but God-given blessings are different from what we consider as blessings. Bible says that blessings from God give people peace, and do not add to our worries. What kind of blessings does God give us? First, God will listen to our prayers. Did you know that God can give you what your heart wishes for? God's timing and His will may not be consistent with our plan, and He might not accomplish things in the ways that we expect, but God loves to answer our prayers and accomplish our prayer according to His glory. Therefore, we can come before Him with no fear and bring all things in our heart before him, because the Lord will listen.

Next, it says here that God came to greet us with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on our head. "Rich blessings" means all good things in the world, but we must not mix up our priorities. Matthew 6:33 says that we ought to seek first the Kingdom of God and His richness, and all these things will be added onto us. The Lord loves to give all these good things to us; not only that, verse four says that God loves to give us life, which is the grace to have long-lasting grace. Besides that, God loves to give us salvation. Not only will we have His grace this life, but also hope in our eternal life. We will eventually leave this world, but when leave our hearts will be filled with hope, because we know that we'll be together with the Lord. We will be able to enjoy God's grace in this life and we'll be with the Lord in our eternal life, how precious that is!

Finally, verse six says that God can make us glad with the joy of His presence. Many people do not have real joy, because before the Lord we can have satisfying joy. This is such a blessing! Brothers and sisters, you must understand that you have rich blessings before God! Let our hearts not been worries and afraid, but solely depend on Him, so that His blessings will come upon us!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Lord, I thank you because in you we have satisfying joy, and we can enjoy rich blessings from you. Let our hearts come to you, and when we seek first your kingdom and your righteousness, all these things will be added onto us! I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
