Luke 21:12-19
But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.
In the teaching concerning the Lord's return in the end time, the Lord repeatedly reminded us to be cautious, because in the last days many will come in the name of the Lord. We will hear all around us about those who claim to be God or about the return of the savior. 1 John 4:1 says: "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
So how do we distinguish which one is the real God? Apostle said that "Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." Thus, the best way to distinguish which one is true God is through worship. During worship, we uplift Jesus Christ as our Lord. 1 John 3:8 went on to say: "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work." When the authority of Jesus is manifested among us, the enemy will try to flee. Also, verse 12 in this passage also mentioned that we ought to be cautious because we will be persecuted in the end time, and even suffer for our faith, and we must be cautious under such circumstance. On the one hand, we should not lose faith; the more serious attack from the enemy is, the sooner will darkness end and dawn arise. We must defend against the enemy with strong and courageous heart. On the other hand, when we stand before those who persecute us, we don't need to worry about what to say, for we only need to rely on the work of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit will put what we ought to say in our mouth. May the Lord help us to learn to listen quietly in our daily life, and the practice hearing of the voice of the Holy Spirit.
