Luke 24:44-48
He said to them, 'This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.' Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, 'This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.
Our God of the Trinity is a God who sends. John 3:16 says that "for God so loved the world He gave his only Son to them," which was how Jesus was sent by God. God also sends people, like in John 20:21: "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." Holy Spirit also sends people, like in Acts chapter 8, where Phillip was sent by the Holy Spirit to the desert to share the gospel with the Ethiopian eunuch, and in Acts 13, in the church of Antioch, Holy Spirit also sent Paul and Barnabas to Europe to preach the gospel.
The Almighty God chose use weak people like us to collaborate with Him in completing His plan for eternity; it's not that He could not do it Himself, but He chose to send us. In the Old Testament time, God made lots of effort to make way for turning word into flesh in Jesus. Generation after generation the Israelites disobeyed God, but God patiently waited and guided them. Finally, Jesus was born to the world and it seems like God's victory is eminent; angels and army of the heaven were waiting eagerly to see how Jesus would go through suffering on earth, and how Jesus would at last declared "it is finished" on the cross to the world. It's not "it is over," but "it is finished!" God plan of salvation has completed and the authority of the devil has been crushed; it's time for God's Kingdom to expand, and angels and army of heaven are clapping joyfully while getting ready to fight for God. After He resurrected from death, Jesus did not send angels and army of heaven though, but He gave the mission to "make disciple of all nations" to the weak disciples. Although we are weak, God chose to work with us and send us, so that God's mighty power will be manifested on the weak people, and we will see God's wonderful act. God did not save us so that we can just wait to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but in order for us to collaborate with Him in expanding the Kingdom. May God stir us up, let us be sent by the Lord today, and be sent into all areas of our life!
