Psalm 10:10-18
Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"? But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out. The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land. You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
God never forgets that we cried out to Him. When we are in difficult circumstances, we think that God will turn a blind eye and forget us; but in reality, God never forgets us. I remember when I first came to San Jose to minister, we hoped that the San Francisco Bay Area would turn to God, and God's revival would descend upon this place. The Bay Area churches' situation at that time was spiritually bleak: Not many people cared about God's kingdom; neither were many people willing to pray for the whole Bay Area with one heart and with one mind. In prayer meetings, Melinda and I incessantly pray for the whole Bay Area, begging God to dispense His mercy, to revive His kingdom. Although there were some responses from brothers and sisters in the church, for the greater Bay Area, there was little result. A few pastors and I prayed for the unity of churches every year. But we didn't see clear reactions. For a long time, we were crestfallen. However, men may lose heart, God will never forget our prayers.
Eventually, nine pastors organized the San Francisco Bay Area Chinese Christian Prayer Coalition. The preparation committee members were eager to have all Bay Area churches united in praying for a revival. I remember that during preparation, one pastor mentioned that we need a revival, and that we have to pray for the revival in front of atonement cover. When I heard it, my heart was full of thanks to God. I wanted to see all Bay Area churches praying for a revival in front of the throne of grace. Hallelujah, our God never forgets! Keep on praying and don't lose heart, and you will see God's promises come true!
Pray with Pastor Tong
Lord, again we present our thanks and praises because you listens to and accepts our prayers. May you never let us lost heart, but help us to keep on praying based on your promises until they are completed. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
