Psalm 38:1-11 ...My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning. My back is filled with searing pain; there is no health in my body. I am feeble and utterly crushed; I groan in anguish of heart. All my longings lie open before you, Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes. My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; my neighbors stay far away. This passage describes the suffering of the psalmist before God. Verse 4 says that he was guilty and he was suffering from the outcome of his sin. Verse 5 says that his foolishness most likely caused him to make wrong decisions and it led to much of the suffering in his life. Verse 7 that he was physically in pain and verse 8 says that he has anxiety in his heart. Verse 11 says that his friends and family were avoiding him. Have you ever had such experiences? Nothing is happening according to your wish. When you are under such circumstance, the best thing you can do is to pray! Many people think that we should pray when there's nothing else we can, but that's wrong! Praying is always the best way in any circumstance, hallelujah! Brothers and sisters, we need to learn to pray for all things no matter what the circumstance is in our life. We can bring all our needs on our hearts before God. You especially need to pray when you are suffering or you encounter injustice. You need to bring all your needs and all the bitterness inside before God, and let God save you and make way in your current circumstance. Is prayer your spare tire of your steering wheel? Often we treat praying as a spare tire, which we only use when we get a flat tire. Prayer, however, should be our steering wheel, which can help us to understand the way that God wants us to take and lead us into the abundance of God. May the Spirit of the Lord once again remind us not to complain to God during difficult circumstances, but to pray! Bring all your needs before God and ask God to reveal His will and make way for you. You will then enter into God's abundances and experience all of God's grace! Pray with Pastor Tong Lord, even though we cannot understand why we would experience all the suffering, but we still want to pray and wait upon you. We ask that you reveal the direction and way for us so that our life may enter into your abundance. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen! |
