John 12:27-29

"Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again."

When the Lord said, "glorify your name", the Heavenly Father spoke with a voice from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again." What does this mean? I firmly believe that this is pointing to the work that Jesus will fulfill for his people and this is the more glorious work. When God won the victory through Jesus Christ, God's desire is even more for his church to receive the complete glory. For this reason, Jesus Christ had to go on the way of the cross. For just as Jesus had said, "...unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed."

Jesus Christ is forever the glorious king, yet he fell to the ground and died and produced many seeds. Through the death of Jesus, God's glory begins to be revealed through his people one by one.  In other words, God's glory will be revealed through his entire church! No longer will it be just a glorious king, but we have become the Body of Christ and are being built up together! Our God wants to be glorified not only through the life of Jesus Christ, but God wants to build up his glorious work through the lives of people that Satan sees as merely weak infants!

Our Lord is already seated on the throne. And we will also seat with him on the throne, hallelujah! The Bible says that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. Therefore, when we are in him, we can have victory over sin, the powers of darkness, and the power of sickness and disease. Thus it says in Mark chapter 16, "And these signs will accompany those who believe... they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." We often think that this promise probably doesn't apply to us, that it is probably given to pastors and preachers. But James 5:16 says, "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." When we come before God by faith, we will be justified by faith! You need to believe that every promises of Jesus Christ are given for you. You can grab hold of God's promises and proclaim victory over the enemy so that our Lord will receive greater glory!

Pray with Pastor Tong

Dear Lord, I thank you for you desire that your power is made perfect in our weakness and you desire to show your glorious power and authority. Lord, may you help me to stand firm in your grace daily and to proclaim victory over the enemy every day. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, Amen!
