If you were the high priest or the Sadducee, you must have felt so helpless when dealing with the apostles. A minute ago, you have locked them up in prison, but the next minute, you find that they are gone, despite the prison cell being perfectly secured! Immediately after that, you find them back at what they were doing before - preaching the word of God to the people. God's ways are indeed hard for us to comprehend! He sent angels to rescue the apostles, and sent them back into the temple courts again to share God's word.
In fact, the reason the apostles were in prison was because they were preaching in the temple courts. Now that they have finally been released from prison, why is God calling them back to the temple to preach again? Are they looking to die? Yet, this is the spirit of submission the apostles demonstrated towards what God has called them to do. They went as they were called. As Christians, we need to learn from the apostles, and submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. We need to believe that God still works miracles today. The same God who opened prison doors in a way even the prison guards were not aware of it, will work the signs and wonders today too. He will open up a way for us in the most difficult of times.
Do you have the same need in your life? Bring them before the Lord. Sometimes we are faced with all sorts of persecution, and we feel like there is no way out. God will open up a way for you in a manner that will shock others!
