Today's Passage - Hebrews 1:10-12

River of Life Christian Church ︳www.rolcc.net/english Hebrews 1:10-12 He also says, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end." The world and all that is in it will change, but only God will never change. In Psalm 90, Moses uses many things to describe how life is temporal. He says that life is like the day that has gone by. When we think about yesterday, we think about what has past. People love to boast about their own accomplishments and love to say, "I remember those days". The truth is all of that has passed away and the things and scenery that you were longing for will pass in a fleeting moment. Moses also described life as passing waters. The Chinese say, "The rivers flow east", meaning things cannot be reversed. There is nothing in life that we can hold on to. There is another Chinese saying "Seas turning into land" that describes how things of the world changes. Moses also described life as having slept through the night. The Chinese say "Life is like a dream and the past is like smoke". A teacher once asked a student what a dream is. The student answered, "When my candy is half eaten and I get woken up by my mother, and suddenly the taste of sweetness disappears." Indeed, once you wake up, the sweetness is gone. This is what the world can offer us, it disappears very quickly, Moses described life like grass. It springs up new in the morning at withers at night. No matter how beautiful things are, they will pass away. The world and everything in it will pass away. Only God will remain the same. God's mercy will never change and his faithfulness endures forever. God keeps His promises, and would never lie. His loving kindness never changes. The Bible says, "God loves His own, and loves them to the end". Do you know that God loves you to the end? Think about it, how many people in this world would love you till the end? Only God loves you and loves you to the end. His love endures forever. Are you seeking the solid rock for your life? Only God is your rock in whom you can trust. Because all things are changing, only God will remain the same. Let us trust in Him today! Pray with Pastor Tong Lord, I thank you because you are the solid rock in whom we can trust, and you never change. Your mercy, faithfulness and loving kindness never changes.
