Hebrews 2:3-4
...How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.  God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
These two verses talk about how salvation comes to us. First, it was "announced by the Lord." When the Lord was on earth, He continuously preached the gospel of Kingdom of God and healed the sick, saying that the Kingdom of God is near and people ought to repent. When Jesus was on earth, He revealed God's salvation as the "word became flesh." Since the word became flesh and died for us on the cross, all the authorities of darkness and death have been overcome, and resurrection from death has revealed the completeness of salvation to us. Salvation was announced by the Lord Himself, and it is revealed in our life.

Next, salvation was "confirmed to us by those who heard him," which are the disciples that followed Jesus. 1 John clearly states that "we have seen with our eyes... looked at and our hands have touched." Salvation didn't suddenly fall down from the sky, for it had indeed happened in history, and it can be verified by everyone who had heard and followed Jesus.

Third, salvation was testified "by signs, wonders and various miracles." Gospel of Mark chapter 16 says that God "worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it." Not only should we preach the truth about Kingdom of Heaven, we should also testify that it is true through signs, wonders, and miracles. People of the world can witness them and give glory to God, and their hearts will be turned back to God.

Fourth, God provided us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Signs and wonders did not stop back in the time of Acts. Today, God continues to grant the gifts of the Spirit to the believers. When we exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders will happen through us, so let's not neglect any grace given by God. God gives us all kinds of gifts, and we ought to receive them by faith, and exercise them in our daily life with a courageous heart, so that God's name can receive the greatest glory through us.

The author of Book of Hebrew said that we have received a great salvation. It all started by the Lord's announcement, confirmed to us by the disciples, testified by the continuous signs and wonders, and God has given us the Holy Spirit to accompany us and to give us all kinds of gifts so that we may spread the message of salvation. May the Lord help us, open our eyes so that we can see the abundance of salvation that we have received, and let us work together with God to expand His Kingdom.
Pray with Pastor Tong
Lord, we thank you because you have given us such great salvation. May you help us not to neglect our salvation; when we have inherited salvation, we need to rise up for your Kingdom, and let salvation be passed on and spread out from us. I thank you and I pray in the victorious name of Jesus, amen!
