On the spiritual path, God often ask us to practice the lesson of patience. I read a book on how to solve conflict between spouses, about what to do when husbands and wives face difficulties when I was working on pre marital counseling. That book mentioned patience, a very important spiritual principle. I have been married for many years. On that day, God suddenly make me realize all the changes He has done on me. When I first came to the United States, I was young, hot blooded, often quarreling with my wife. After I had children, I often taught them using my own will. I only came to understand how to be a husband and father after many years of molding by God. "Patience" is the way God works. Although we wish that God fulfill our prayer immediately, He often mold us through time. When I shared this in cell group meetings, many wives asked, 'Why is it very difficult for a husband to be sensitive to his wife's needs? Why does it take him to be of old age to be sensitive to the needs of his wife and children?' I do not have correct answer for it. All I can say is that maybe God want us to learn the lesson of patience.

Abraham obtained God's promise through patience. Quite often, we endure, but full of complains. Abraham was not so. After he had promise in his heart, he kept in his heart. In the process of waiting, do not complain, because complaining will not help us, but rather make us be bitter, or even be astray from God. We should learn to pray when we wait patiently. Praying is to let God work. We also believe God can work. Especially when we face adversities, praying makes our heart be closer to God. God likes to revive. He emphasizes not revival of outside environment, but s of hearts within. Because God wants us belong to Him completely, we should learn the lesson of patience.
.
Learn the lesson of patience in our daily lives. Do not give up. We shall wait patiently for the spring and autumn rains, as mentioned in Jacob. Be patient and receive all spiritual blessings. We pray that God help us, no matter what difficulty we face in our lives. Look upon God, pray incessantly, and be patient. The blessing that befalls Abraham will come down to you and me!
